Dr. Maxwell received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana and graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1989. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Baylor University Medical Center.  Dr. Maxwell completed his Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Dr. Maxwell is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.  He is licensed in Louisiana and Alabama.
